Andasibe National Park – Topographically, the area is characterised by low hills covered by a degraded forest and dotted with a few small, attractive lakes. The best time to visit this area for a stunning Madagascar vacation is from September to January, and in May.

Lemur Island – Here you will be able to meet the resident lemurs up close and personal!

Grace Lodge – Grace Lodge is situated only 800m away from the entrance of Andasibe National Park, which is home to an astonishing array of wildlife. Experience a rush of adrenalin as you see lemurs up close in their natural surroundings. After an active day filled with amazing adventures, relax at the lodge’s swimming pool or cosy lounge and share your stories with the other guests. The tranquil setting, comfortable, basic accommodation and excellent service ensure that all Grace Lodge’s guests are treated to a memorable experience that will last a life time!

Please note that Madagascar is a country which is in its infancy when it comes to tourism. Accommodation is limited so all the above mentioned accommodation are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to change these using similar accommodation of the same standards.

Day 1 & 2: Grace Lodge or similar

Vehicle: Transport will depend on the size of the group:

  • A small car for 2 – 3 people
  • A minivan for 4 – 8 people
  • A bus for 10 or more people

Travel Insurance: Please note that travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling with Jenman Madagascar Safaris. All insurance is solely the responsibility of our guests. Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage and loss of personal items including but not limited to camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of luggage, etc. Please speak to your travel agent if you require assistance

Visas: A visa is required to enter the territory of Madagascar and can easily be obtained upon arrival at the airport of Antananarivo with a validity of up to 90 days. Tourists staying for less than one month can purchase a visa for 115’000 Ariary (around 35 €). Paying with the exact amounts or small currency is advised. No photographs are required, however, please ensure that passports are valid for at least 6 months after return date.

Day 1
Antananarivo

We will drive to Andasibe through the green and luxuriant vegetation of the east. Along the way we will see Merina villages in the rocky mountains. We will finally arrive at Andasibe between 15h00 and 17h00. At approximately 19h00 we will enjoy a night walk within Andasibe to observe nocturnal animals.

Day 2
Natural Reserve of Andasibe

We will take a morning visit to the Special Reserve of Andasibe. After a short break back at your hotel, you will visit Lemur Island at Vakona Forest Lodge. The rest of your afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3
Tour ends in Antananarivo

Today, we head back to Tana, where your lemur experience comes to an end.
