Tampolo Lodge is a small lodge located on the beach on the Bay of Tampolo which lies in the Antongil Bay, on the northern coast of Madagascar in the Masoala Peninsula. Tampolo Lodge is a simple, friendly place and the perfect location from which to explore Masoala National Park’s wonders and the underwater glories of Tampolo Marine Park.
The origins of Tampolo Lodge lie in a scientific expedition to study the forest canopy of the Masoala in 2001. The lodge stands on the scientists’ campsite and is only accessible by boat or on foot.
The lodge has 9 bungalows: 5 double bungalows with shared bathroom facilities and 4 bungalows with private bathrooms. All bungalows are equipped with mosquito nets. The whole infrastructure was built with materials brought directly from Maroantsetra in perfect harmony with the environment of the site. The bungalows are arranged along the bay within an old cinnamon plantation around a redesigned garden.
