Madagascar – 6 days: Explore the beautiful small island of Ile aux Nattes – Robinson Crusoe style – with beautiful beaches, quiet villages and hidden bungalows.
Ile aux Nattes – The tiny Ile aux Nattes, off Ile Sainte Marie’s southern tip, also offers lovely beaches for pure relaxation. Madagascar tours and vacations to this region are truly unforgettable.
Island exploration – Explore nearby island, such as the well-known Isle St Marie. The slender 57km-long island of Ile Sainte Marie is said to resemble a pregnant woman lying down. Most of the hotels are dotted on the coast south of Ambodifotatra, where the beach is narrow and pleasant. The north west of the island is more quiet but less accessible. The east coast is relatively rugged and, until recently, undeveloped.
Pirate Cemetery – In the 17th and 18th centuries, dangerous pirates sailed the seas searching for booty from ships loaded with exotic spices, luxurious silks, and silver and gold from European trade with the East Indies. While these buccaneers roamed the open seas they needed a strategic spot where they could replenish their supplies before heading out to pillage again. The Ile of Saint Marie in Madagascar provided an ideal location with its secluded bays, quiet waters, proximity to the trade route, and abundant fresh fruit and water.
